Quality coils begin with quality components. Every ERSE iron core inductor features a 99.9% copper Purity Guarantee while the cores use low distortion micro-thin 0.50mm laminated steel. ERSE coils are then wound using precision layering equipment that maintains the crystalline structure of the wire and controls hysteresis tension. The advanced design of these iron core inductors minimizes core saturation, ensuring that your speakers deliver consistent performance even at high power levels for woofer or subwoofer circuits. Say goodbye to distortion and hello to crystal-clear sound. All 18 gauge inductors utilize a 1-1/4" square by 1-3/4" bobbin on a 1/2" square by 3" laminated iron core. The bobbin can handle high temperatures and the screw holes allow for secure mounting on your circuit board. ERSE also gives you 2.5″ wire leads with 1.2″ of that tinned for easy soldering.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why are the wire tips silver?

The tips are tinned from the manufacturer to make soldering easier. You should solder to the tinned tips, not the copper colored sections of an inductor.

Can I cut the wire leads shorter?

The silver tips have been tinned for easy soldering.  If you remove the silver part of the wire then you need to scrape off the copper colored coating from the wires until you see bare copper, then solder to that.

Are the wires positive and negative?

No.  Inductors do not have polarity.

Do I have to use screws for mounting iron core inductors?

No, you can use hot melt glue or any decent glue to hold them on your circuit board.  We usually recommend a zip tie over the inductor to hold it in place just in case your glue isn’t strong enough.
