Frequently Bought Together

The Titan-815LX speaker kit for home theater use.

The Titan-815LX utilizes an Eminence 15" woofer with great bass performance while allowing for crossover points as low as 40hz without losing the ability to keep up with massive subwoofer systems in large rooms. This is a long throw pro-audio woofer with a larger rear vent, stiffer surround, and huge magnet for extra power handling. It's capable of handling high power levels while still remaining linear. Add a bit of boost down low to really give you that 'kick in the chest' feeling you've been missing with other speakers.

The 8" Celestion midrange keeps vocals crystal clear at any volume. It's a sealed back design that doesn't require a separate enclosure behind it, so the entire horn section can simply sit on the top of your 15" woofer enclosure. The horn can then be independently rotated while leaving the woofer section in place. This allows you to quickly tweak the angle that your speakers are aiming.

The LX model also uses a Celestion compression driver with a high powered neodymium magnet and a larger voice coil and diaphragm. While those attributes give this driver the ability to play at higher output levels with low distortion, the well optimized design of the driver is also proven to provide superior levels of detail and clarity at all volume levels. No titanium diaphragms are used here. Only smoother sounding PETP diaphragms so you don't have that harsh ear piercing sound people often worry about.

Pulling everything together is the crossover network. The designer gave it a very flat frequency response with a slight bump on the bottom end to provide a little extra kick that a speaker of this size should offer. The pro-audio components are highly efficient and don't require much power to play loud in a home environment. They're designed to handle much more power than you will ever send them, so even at high volumes in a home environment they aren't even breaking a sweat. This keeps distortion at absolute minimal levels while maintaining a clear and composed sound even at a high volume. What you end up with is a 3-way high impact, high energy speaker with a very wide dynamic range.

The photo of this kit is a bit deceiving and may look smaller than it actually is.  The 2-way horn is 20" tall and is sitting behind a 15" woofer. The second kit photo has a Coke can in it for size perspective. Yes, this is an expensive kit using expensive parts.  But you will never max out this speakers potential in a home theater and it will keep up with even the largest subwoofer systems.

Quality Control: Every compression driver gets a professional 5 point quality inspection test before we package your kits. We also frequency match them so that your set of speakers all sound the same. We don't know of any other retailer that completes this level of quality control. We do this because you probably don't have the testing gear or parameters for all of these tests. Because of this type of quality control it can take longer than a week to package and ship your speaker kits.

Titan Series Speaker Kits

by Matt G and Erich H

The Titans are powerful 3-way speakers designed to give you the most clarity and output potential of any home theater speaker kit available. They use name brand pro-audio components that are voiced to sound more like home audio speakers. No need to worry about harsh sounding speakers with the Titans. And no need to worry about output potential because these speakers can fill even the largest rooms with crystal clear dynamic sound. They are ideally suited for dedicated home theaters or small commercial cinemas and tested to work well in both normal or baffle wall installations. They must be used with powerful subwoofer systems to get the best overall listening experience.

Every Titan speaker uses a huge 2-way waveguide/horn with an 8" midrange and 1" high frequency compression driver to provide amazing coverage with very little change in sound as you move off axis. This gives you an incredibly wide sweet spot, so when properly aimed, no listener is left out. Another great feature of the waveguide loaded midrange and compression driver is their ability to provide lifelike dynamics and exceptionally low distortion during loud sequences and also in quiet passages where its ability to resolve subtle details is not lost.

FAQ's for the Titan Speaker Kits

Why are the cabinets optional on Titan kits?

Baltic birch cabinets are fairly expensive and heavy, so shipping costs can also get pretty costly. Some people would rather save the money and build their own.

Why are the brackets optional on this speaker kit?

The brackets are fairly easy to make and some people may not want to spend the extra money on them. You can use two triangular or square pieces of wood to hold the large horn in place if you didn't want to purchase the horn brackets.

Do I need to cut the ports to a different length?

Titan-815LX ports should be used at full length.

Where's the best place to put the crossover?

After you assemble your crossover network, it can be mounted on the inside of any panel that's easiest for you to work with. Some people mount the crossover on top of the cabinet just behind the midrange for easy wiring to the other parts.
