Cinergy #10 speaker cabinet screws are commercial grade screws with a light coating for enhanced corrosion and abrasion resistance. These screws are significantly stronger than your typical cabinet screw and much less prone to break.  #10 size is also great for mounting larger woofers or subwoofers in your speaker cabinet. These screws have course threads with a lot of extra 'bite' to give you strong retention power in all types of wood, including MDF. Due to their sharp tips, they are considered 'self tapping' or 'self piercing' screws but we always recommend drilling pilot holes whenever installing any screw in any type of wood.  This is done as a precaution to lower your chances of splitting the wood.
