Cinergy #7 Pan head pocket hole screws are top of the line commercial grade screws for assembling cabinets and installing woofers or tweeters.  They're designed with a very sharp cutter (auger) on the tip of the screw that reduces the chance of the wood splitting. Square head drive that has less chance of slipping off. They have a light coating for enhanced corrosion and abrasion resistance for easier installation. The washer head is .29" (7.5mm) in diameter which is great for mounting woofers or tweeters in your speaker cabinet. Used commercially for pocket hole assembly methods, these screws have medium course threads to give you strong retention power in all types of wood, including MDF. Due to their sharp tips and auger, they are considered 'self tapping' or 'self piercing' screws but we always recommend drilling pilot holes whenever installing any screw in any type of wood.  This is done as a precaution to lower your chances of splitting the wood.
