1/4" Nylon Professional Grade 12-10 AWG Ring Crimp Terminal 10pcs

Cinergy Audio 1/4" nylon ring crimp terminals have an insulated lower barrel with a tinned copper contact receptacle. These are considered professional grade quality because they allow for a double crimp if you want the most secure connection. Double crimping is optional.  It's when you crimp on the bare wire first like regular terminals, but also have the option to crimp a second time farther back on the non-stripped portion of the wire. Lower quality crimp terminals do not have the option to double crimp. They're designed to make hooking up your audio projects more secure and for making a safe electrical junction between the cable and an electrical connection. The full nylon sleeve prevents a short circuit.

Installation Note:

• Prepare the wire: Strip the insulation from the ends of the wire you want to connect, exposing the bare wire. We usually recommend about .25" of exposed wire.
• Slide on the terminal: Place the female crimp terminal over the exposed wire. Make sure the wire is fully inserted into the terminal, with the wire insulation sitting against the base of the terminal.
• Crimp the terminal: Use a crimping tool or a pair of strong pliers to crimp the lower barrel of the terminal onto the wire. This will secure the wire inside the terminal. Ensure that the crimps are tight enough to secure the wire inside the terminal.
• Double crimp (optional): Move the crimping tool behind your first crimp so that it's over the non-stripped portion of wire and crimp a second time.
• Secure the connection (optional): You can use a small amount of electrical tape or a heat-shrink sleeve to wrap around the base of the terminal.
• Test the connection: Give a slight tug on the crimp terminal and wire to be sure they are fully connected and secure.
