The Denovo Audio TW-18S 2-way horn.

This horn has been used in the Titan speaker for years and we've decided to make it available to the DIY community. Instead of separating the midrange and compression driver on the front of a speaker cabinet, the TW-18S 2-way horn helps unify both of them so that they seamlessly blend together. It forces both drivers to share the same 90x40 dispersion pattern so that the coverage remains smooth and consistent as the sound transitions from the midrange driver to the high-frequency driver. This reduces interference patterns and lobing issues. Horn loading the midrange driver dramatically increases its efficiency, meaning it can play louder with less amplifier power and lower distortion since the diaphragm doesn't have to work as hard. It also provides controlled directivity, focusing the sound toward the audience while reducing energy sent toward walls, ceilings, and floors where it would cause unwanted reflections.

As you can see in the second photo, these are very large and require a fairly big packaging box which can be expensive to ship. The current price covers "Free Shipping" but that might have to be adjusted a little bit later on.

• Reduced Distortion: Because the horn-loaded midrange is more efficient, it requires less excursion to achieve the same volume as traditional midranges, which significantly lowers harmonic distortion.
• Optimized Crossover Frequency: The 2-way horn design allows for a relatively low crossover point, matching the coverage pattern of large woofers and preventing the woofers from beaming at higher frequencies.

Helpful Note: These work with Celestion 8" woofers and pretty much any screw-on style compression driver. You will get 5 pieces of gasket tape included with each horn.  The gasket tape can be used between the horn and the front of your woofer if needed.  It's 100% cosmetic just in case your woofer doesn't fit perfectly flush against the horn due to whatever type of gasket material the manufacturer has on the front of your woofer. We put this on when we sell the Titan kits, but again, it's just for cosmetics and not really needed.
