Large-format 3-inch dome midranges have a legendary status in high-end studio monitors, and the HiVi DM-7500 brings that directly to the DIY speaker builder. Pictures don't really do this driver justice. It has a massive 75mm (3-inch) hand-coated fabric dome that surprises you when you first see it. This oversized radiating dome bridges the gap between large woofers and tweeters, providing dynamic authority, wide off-axis dispersion, and an open soundstage completely free of the breakup nodes found in rigid woofer cones.

The DM-7500 uses a true underhung motor geometry powered by a shielded double-magnet ferrite system and a huge 75mm voice coil wound with copper-clad aluminum wire (CCAW). This underhung layout gives a uniform drive force even during high-transient peaks within its 350 Hz to 6000 Hz operating range. Power handling is an impressive 60 watts RMS (120 watts max) with a high 92 dB sensitivity.

Installation for builders is straightforward. The rear of the driver has an integrated, non-resonant damped sealed rear chamber. Because the rear assembly is completely sealed from the outside, the DM-7500 mounts directly to the main speaker baffle without requiring a separate internal airtight chamber to shield it from woofer backpressure.

To save you a trip to the hardware store, we include a custom-matched Installation Kit at no extra charge so you can start building immediately. Each midrange you buy comes with a pre-cut gasket, two quick connect terminals, and six screws for free.
