The new 2025 Overnight Sensation MTM has arrived!
The Overnight Sensations have been one of the best selling DIY speaker kits for a long time so this MTM just went through it's long awaited upgrade to give it better performance than ever. When you upgrade an icon, it better be good. Paul did not disappoint with his all new 2025 MTM model. It received a new HiVi tweeter, a new crossover design, new circuit board, name brand crossover parts from Bevenbi and ERSE, and even a new one piece port tube for easier assembly. Not enough? Okay, how about some flashy new bronze colored screws to match the woofers cone. Now you just have to build a pair!

The Overnight Sensations have been one of the best selling DIY speaker kits of all time. In the early months of 2025 we talked with Paul Carmody to see if he had any visions to upgrade, improve, or expand on his original series. After some brainstorming and prototype drawings he decided to take the Overnight Sensation idea to a higher level. Paul created 5 new designs that really showcase what this well known speaker series can do. The 4" woofer size has always impressed people because it's able to fill an average size room with unexpected volume and good bass response. But could they be even more impressive with additional woofers? Could the high end frequencies be improved with a new tweeter? The correct answer is: Yes and Yes!

TM: One 4" HiVi B4N woofer, one HiVi T20 tweeter in a ported MDF bookshelf cabinet.
MTM: Two 4" HiVi B4N woofers, one HiVi T20 tweeter in a ported MDF bookshelf cabinet.
MTM Tower: Two 4" HiVi B4N woofers, one HiVi T20 tweeter in a ported MDF tower cabinet.
MTMMM Tower: Four 4" HiVi B4N woofers, one HiVi T20 tweeter in a ported MDF tower cabinet.

HiVi Woofers
The small woofer size has always been deceiving. But don't be fooled, they're highly capable when used by themselves or in multiples.
HiVi Tweeters
All newly upgraded models use the highly detailed HiVi T20 dome tweeter. This 3/4" tweeter blends perfectly to the woofers with minimal crossover parts needed.
Name Brand Parts

Do I need to cut the ports to a different length?
No, the ports do not need to be cut down.
Where's the best place to put the crossover?
After you assemble your crossover network, it can be put on the inside of any panel that's easiest for you to work with. But most people put it on the rear panel.
